Let's start with the name: It’s coffee, just different.
If you do a little digging (which won't be hard) you will find we started our little company over a decade ago as Fofcee Coffee Roasters. At Fofcee, we do things a little differently starting with the name. (It’s coffee, just rearranged: F-O-F-C-E-E. Thank a Scrabble app and a few cups of espresso for that.)
But beyond the name, we’re a Social Purpose Corporation based in Washington State. That means our mission goes deeper than coffee. We're here to serve people, protect the planet, and support the hands that grow every bean we roast.
So… why us?
Let’s be honest: the coffee world is full of hype. Everyone’s claiming to have “the best” beans, uses "the best" roasting method, gives to "the best" charity, ships "the freshest" coffee. But taste is personal. A subtle difference in roast or origin can change everything. We think you should choose coffee for reasons that matter to you because you vacationed in Guatemala, because your pen pal lived in Kenya, or just because you like how the country name sounds.
We're here to help you find a coffee that connects with your story not just ours.
So… why Caffe Affine?
We get it, FOFCEE isn’t the easiest name to remember (or pronounce). And while we’ve thought about changing it, the idea of redoing paperwork, paying lawyers, fees, updating banks, emails, and everything else? No, thank you.
So here’s our simple solution: Fofcee stays as our official company name, but our retail coffee now comes to you under a new name Caffe Affine.
After more than a decade of roasting for wholesale partners, we kept hearing the same question: “Can I get this coffee at home?”
So, we said yes.
But we wanted to launch retail in a way that stays true to what matters most to us connection.
That’s why we chose the name Caffe Affine a nod to affinity, kinship, and closeness. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just discovering us, we hope our coffee becomes part of your story.
Because to us, coffee is more than a drink.
It’s a connection from our roaster to your cup.
What Makes Us Different?
We’re a Social Purpose Corporation—not driven by stock prices or shareholders. We care more about impact than margins.
We pay fair prices for quality beans, sourced from farmers and co-ops using organic, shade-grown, fair trade, and rainforest-friendly practices whenever possible.
Custom Roasted: Every batch is roasted with intention. We think it’s pretty cool to have a bag of coffee on your counter that’s just for you.
We’re not here to squeeze every dollar, we’re here to share something we love. Yes, we need to earn enough to keep the roaster running and the lights on, but we understand that great, craft coffee can feel like a splurge. We also know how hard it can be to make ends meet. That’s why we price our coffee as fairly as we can balancing quality, sustainability, and accessibility. It may cost a little more than the generic grocery store brands, but behind every bag is intentional sourcing, ethical choices, and a whole lot of care. Because for us, value isn’t just about price it’s about doing right by our customers, our growers, and our planet.

Our coffee story begins at origin—whether it's from the steep slopes of Guatemala, in the highlands of Ethiopia, under the forest canopies of Peru. The farmers we source from aren’t just suppliers—they’re stewards of tradition, soil, and quality. Many have been cultivating coffee for generations, and it shows in every bean.
We partner with growers and importers who care as much as we do—people who value transparency, sustainability, and fair compensation. That means a mix of specialty grade, certified organic, fair trade, Rainforest Alliance, and shade-grown coffees—where it matters, and when it counts. We taste dozens of lots to find the ones that speak to us—and hopefully, to you too.
